[Lowfer] New ground rods driven, and connected

It took the better part of the day, but I have the 2 new rods in
the ground and connected to the ground rod underneath the antenna.
So now I have a 7 foot triangle under the lowFER vertical.
The ground rods are connected to each other, and the radials run
from the one at the base of the antenna. After physically
connecting the ground rods to the system, I saw no change in the
RF current from Fri. night...still at 162 MilliAmps at 1 watt.
Did a quick drive around ( daylight ) and didn't seem to notice
any stronger signal from the beacon than Fri. night. I was getting
a better signal in the mobile at night, but it now seems to be as
strong day or night after all the recent grounding I have done.
And; the S-meter is reading 1/2 S-unit higher now too. If the
theorectical rule is true here, I have possibly gained an extra
3dB after all the grounding efforts. The first " stable " antenna
current reading on the new antenna was 142 MilliAmps. Now, with
many days, and lots of work; the RF current is at 162 MilliAmps.
That is a " worth all the extra effort " increase. Not only is it
showing on the meter, but it is also radiating it !! That's !! the
good part about all of it.. Now it's time to rest for awhile and
see what the antenna can do... Just itchin to get the transverter
going and start trying some digimodes on 1750 meters...SOON !!

73 all, and enjoy the rest of your weekend:
