[Lowfer] ODD RESISTORS NEEDED ( 10 GIG )

The company RS Components originally traded as Radio Spares Limited (ie
Radio Spares inc in US terminology) They were set up in the 1930s in London.
They sold universal spares for radio receivers and TV sets. As that trade
dropped off they began to specialise in Electronics and Electrical
components. So they rebranded as RS Components. Their parent company is
Electrocomponents plc. http://www.electrocomponents.com/ecm/ir/ gives the
details.
I remember their catalogue from the 1960s, just a few pages. Their catalogue
now runs to thousands of pages. Progress!
It was unfortunate that Radio Shack or Tandy as it was known in the UK also
used part numbers which started RS - as a result many many people make a
connection between RS Components and Radio Shack which was simply not there
in the past. RS Components would NEVER sell to individuals. It took much
much work on my part to obtain an account with them in the late 1970s, which
I still have. Since that time they have changed their policy and will now
sell to whoever wishes to pay.
The big bonus for UK account holders is FREE courier next day delivery in
the UK, even for a single item.

Correction - Paul you were right, Tandy Corp did own both Allied and Radio
Shack for a while, but in 1973 a Court order forced them to become separate.
In 1999 the U.K. company bought Allied so now they are completely different
companies.

I seem to remember Radio Shack owns Allied Electronics. They used to
put out large catalog like Mouser and Newark.
