Hi Mitch, and lowFERs:
No, nothing changed, I just put the beacon in tune mode to go out
and drive around my usual route to see if the un-explained increase
in RF current was really going into the air... It definitely is..
The S-meter reading at set points is higher, and I heard the beacon
in places I have never heard it before. And the places where I do
hear it, was much stronger. I usually have to pull over to the
side of the road and turn off the motor to hear the signal; not
tonite. I was able to just drive my signal circle, and could hear
it with the motor running...
Now; here's my thought of what might be going on. I mentioned that
the newly driven ground rod is not connected to anything. That may
not be completely true, IF !! you consider a hole filled with
water as a connection ?? Even though there is no physical bond
to the rod; There may very well be a chemical connection. Since
the ground is not fully dry from the recent rain; when I filled
the hole with water, that may have made a connection to the rod
thru the damp soil...
Any thoughts on that ?? -- Anyone ??
