[Lowfer] How do I make the ant. work above its resonant frequency ??

The new lowFER Vertical is self resonant around 290 KHz roughly.
It peaks very sharply, and drops out about 15 KHz up, and about
20 KHz below, so very narrow with the elevated coil. I can
immediately see the dis-advantage of an elevated coil if one plans
to use the ant. as a broadband receive device. Going down isn't a
problem, but how do I get the ant. to work on higher frequencies ??
On 600 meters it is totally deaf. I tried putting a variable cap
in series with the ant. but very little benefit. The same with
shunting it to ground, which should take it lower anyway.
First time trying something like this; I'm wondering if it's
going to be usable only below its resonant frequency ??
