Received this capture of UWL a few days ago. Distance is roughly 110 miles.

The beacon is on 185302.0 with QRSS30. It is solar powered and the battery
is charged by the PV cells during the day, so it runs day and night.
Antenna is 8m vertical #14 stranded with 2m diameter tophat made five #4
solid radials with #14 copperweld hub and halo. Picture:

DDS is homemade using the AD9851 which I'm controlling with an engineering
sample of the ATmega1284p AVR MCU. I'm using GCC for AVR and the AVR Libc C
library (http://www.nongnu.org/avr-libc/). I'm very pleased with the
frequency accuracy and repeatability of this exciter which is really a
testament to the 12.8 MHz TCXO..it's one of the ones that Stuart gave to
good homes years ago. I built this exciter because my trusty ZL1BPU dds
won't reach 600m.
Final is Lyle's K0LR complementary pair circuit.
I intend to use the same antenna and exciter at 2200m with the Hafler amp
but need to wind a new coil. To get on 600m I also need to build an amp.
I'm planning to build one of the 500 watt W1VD modules, but haven't even
started that yet.
