[Lowfer] AC utility meter QRM on LF

With the SDR-IQ connected to a wire wrapped around a probe inserted into 
the hot side of a power receptacle I just captured this display showing 
most of the data energy at 120 KHz.  X-10 devices also operate at this 
frequency.  If 120 KHz is the primary frequency the meter is 
transmitting how is it passing through the utilities transformers?  
After my meter reported I am hearing and seeing lots of activity around 
2 to 5 KHz.  These signal last longer than the meter's transmission.

Thanks for all the info I have received.  The more I know about how this 
system operates the better prepared I will be to discuss a possible cure 
with the power utilities engineers.
