Under good cdx I am able to just hear some LW broadcasting but from a
location
close to the Susquehanna River away from noise
I built a large loop stick antenna that tunes from ?? 160 Kc to above the
broadcast band
and couple it to my Kato KA1103 through another small non tuned loopstick
that I position over the Kayto antenna
this works well on the 600 meter band and it copies the beacons well
made it in PVC pipe and did a demo at the local club and was asked if
the toilet still flushed #(*%_)(*@#
Well ( he said ) starting to rain so I better chase some storms and
broadcast the results on my local repeater
Paul K5WMS really nailed the worst of ham culture
