Thanks, Andy.  That gives me some reassurance about what other ingredients 
may be in the stuff...nothing I would particularly object to having in my 
soil.

However, all bentonite is aluminosilicate hydrate.  The difference in its 
properties lies in whether there's an atom of sodium or calcium attached. 
Apparently, they don't feel it necessary to tell us that in the case of cat 
litter. :)

Maybe I should just get some litter--unused--and test its conductivity 
enhancement and physical properties under varying soil mositure conditions. 
Alas, I won't be able to have those results before I need to lay in this 
week's grounds.
