Last night was a cold, quiet one in NE IL. Activity coming through on
137 kHz ARGO QRSS60 consisted of XNS, MP, and XKO. XKO was strong into
the VE7TIL grabber at http://www3.telus.net/sthed/argo/ while XNS was in
and out.

The usual 500 kHz stations were on and coming in well: WD2XSH/7, QRSS10
strong on 495.033 kHz even before sunset; WD2XSH/6, CW on 508.8 kHz;
WD2XSH/31, CW on 508.7 kHz; WA2XRM, QRSS10 on 479,7 kHz; and WD2XSH/12,
/15, /17, and /37 all near 501.1 kHz, WSPR.

518 kHz Navtex yielded several messages from both transmitters at
Kodiak, AK ($12J and $12X. The former snuck in ahead of New Orleans
keying up at 0702Z while the latter snuck in after it dekeyed at 0740Z.
West coast stations in San Francisco, Long Beach, and Astoria also
avoided capture by closer stations for a few messages.

Just before sunrise the watering hole was checked and XR was still in
there. Moving to 349.6 kHz, NDB NO in Reno came out of the noise briefly
for a new one after several weeks of looking.
