have to let the rig cool, the heat sink is so hot that I can't

Yes that was a good experiment to see a direct comparison
between QRSS3 and JASON Normal speed under the
same conditions.
 
So for weak signal work QRSS3 is definitely better than
JASON normal. Both modes faded into the noise at 
times but I could have probably gotten a good part of 
your message on QRSS3 whereas JASON Normal
was mostly random characters.
 
Sounds like you gave your poor amplifier a tough
workout at 25 watts! I'm sure it will enjoy a rest.
