Todd, the staircase source didn't really look different to me compared
to the previous evening. This time I copied two full up-down cycles,
then after the third "up" the signal faded into my QRSS30 noise floor.
Think that was more likely due to lowering of the transmit power rather
than propagation because Warren's signal was strong throughout. Looks to
me like the frequency steps are about 30 seconds in duration with
something near 3 minutes spent at the high and low frequencies. I've had
trouble with my loop so have been using an omni-directional e-probe. If
I spot the signal again I'll try to find it's direction with the loop.

It was a pretty noisy night for monitoring but propagation must have
been decent since I got Navtex decodes from Greenland to Alaska. The 3
US west coast stations were in there but no BC Canadians. That's usual
because other stations transmit well past their assigned time slots. On
the other hand, this morning MP and EAR are weaker than normal, with MP
drifted slightly higher in frequency.
