Hi Charlie,

You are more centrally located which is a big advantage for hearing everyone.
My antenna is a double extended zepp on 40m (162' center fed) at 80' high, broadside east-west.
I have considerable gain broadside which is a disadvantage since I get those European broadcast stations which come roaring in virtually unattenuated over the Atlantic Ocean.
At one point it seemed that a broadcast station fired up right on 7.265 in German (probably Deutsche Welle) and that really clobbered the frequency, after that I pretty much gave up.

Thanks for organizing this net, it will be great when we get the bugs worked out!

Warren , I think 75 is probably a good choice . It was because my 75 meter
antenna has a problem and I could not work on it over the weekend , so that
is why I chose 40 meters . I didn't want to work on antennas with a foot of
snow on the ground and a strong north wind .

I do think we should get some stations to try 75 meters this week and see
how it works out at different times and distances . I will be doing antenna
work one day this week and getting the 75 meter antenna back in operation .

I will dig out the amp so I can have about 600 watts on for next week .

I was hearing everyone just fine here .

Charlie , W5COV
