Mini verticals do work no matter what band they are used on. We have a 
fellow in Iowa on 600 meters who uses a 20' tall vertical with a hat and 
covers the country just fine with 100w. His local signal is very strong 
also. Note the micro sized vertical used on 8.97kc today in Germany and 
the distance covered with a little over 100w...
