Yes the XTAL is supposed to be a 28 MHz fundamental. At least that is
what the spec sheet on it says. And I did put a trimmer in series
with the XTAL, knowing that I would need to do just that.
Thanks Mike for the info. That's probably why I was seeing 3, and 4
waveforms at a time on the scope screen, each one offset in time from
the other. That makes sense now.
Capacitor changing is the next " fix what I messed up " chore. I will
start on that one maybe tomorrow evening. Gotta get in bed for now.
