John you most likely were hearing WSPR . I am just using a cord plugged in from the Icom speaker jack to the microphone input on the laptop . Dimension 4 time program and WSPR program from here :

Andy is going to be on 160 over night . 

I am just using a small indoor loop tuned for the BCB to copy him .

Dial frequency in USB is 1.836.60 MHz.
