Actually it was a relay controlled light I replaced.

I don't recall the brand but I bought several at Lowes.  I suspected they would 
be a RF noise problem but since I have manual control of them I can deactivate 
them when needed.  The nice feature is they have a built in dimmer which allows 
for slow on and off and also a half brilliance to full on mode.  Only works with 
incandescent bulbs though. The soft on/off feature should greatly extend the 
life of the bulbs.  But come to think of it I don't recall ever replacing the 
bulbs in the old ones. But it's nice not to have the lights instantly blinding 
me when I walk between the house and the outside buildings.  It's the typical 
solve a problem and create a new one scenario :)
