[Lowfer] OKAY; so maybe I need a loop

Jon:
I have built that preamp - and it works great but the impedance of the "octoloop" and other single turn loops is in the order of ohms - and the small transformer in the front end of the Burhans ( I get them at Mouser ) require a step up - and also allow you to roll-off the frequency response just above the 500 kHz - and kill broadcast intermods to a degree.
I do use a version of that preamp you suggest - for my 16 turn/remotely tuned loop - and it's perfect.
I always appreciate a new circuit - just makes me want to get the soldering iron out again.
Thanks
Mitch
