Monitored 185.3 kHz using QRSS30, slow much of last night from NE IL.
Only MP was solid copy (as usual), but traces of CV were apparent by
0500Z. By 0700Z bits from XR and WMS were also appearing, but nothing
from the WMs. That was using an e-probe/SDR-IQ for receive.
Would like to use QRSS60 but don't have an extended display version of
ARGO like Laurence has at http://kl1x.com/Bville.html.
The copy quality hasn't changed much here for quite a few days. Usually
bits of CV, XR, and WMS have been seen and occasionally characters
copied, but usually not full calls, at least not all the letters in a
row. I usually do copy the WEB call at least once looking at 189.95 kHz,
but that's down from December 2009 when it normally was strong enough to
copy at QRSS3 bandwidth. NDB DX has been hard to come by as well.
Activity at 500 kHz has perked up recently but don't have the impression
that SNRs are better, just more stations on the air.
