LW broadcasters are at S-9 + 5 to 10. And despite the astonomical
static levels from T-Storms going thru the area I was copying
" MP " solid at 10:30pm EST ( 03:30 UTC ), and was getting
traces from " WMS " . After the storm passes by, it's all clear
to the west, si I'll reconnect the antenna and try again.
I am experimenting with a Trifilar wound coil from a SMPS, and
have it connected for a 1:1 ratio by the ARRL handbook. I can't
really tell any difference in receive. All it did for the
computer hash was move it to another frequency which didn't
help any. But, this coil did come out of a power supply, so who
knows what Impedance values it presents in the system ??

Still experimenting here in Friendsville,

73 to everyone :::
