[Lowfer] 2200 Meter request for NPRM

          This same guy ( The holder of WE2XTU ) filed a modification request for WE2XTU for frequencies from 130kHz t o 450 GHz recently for some type of antenna experiment.

          I think the danger here is the guy has no idea what he is doing, he assumes that he will get 1W ERP from 100 Watts transmitter output power, which is unlikely.  Also I remain firmly against the 1W ERP limit which in many cases is insufficient power and there is no reason (other than perhaps fire safety ) to limit the power so low.

Just from a technical point of view, I would hate to see that 100 watt limit, as many practical backyard antennas could not meet 1 watt ERP with it. From a tactical point of view, if the FCC slams the door on a "lone wolf" applicant, then it only increases the waiting time before a larger organization like the ARRL could approach without being told "we just said no!"

Anyway, it's food for thought. Has anyone been aware of any on-air 2200 meter operation by WE2XTU? His license covers a number of other frequency ranges, as well.
