[Lowfer] WM change

Lowfer Watering Hole viewers,

The lower WM (Ellsworth) will be off for at least part of tonight and maybe tomorrow for promised modifications. This afternoon I replaced the #12 loop conductor with RG-8 but the new loop has not been re-resonated, and the turns ratio of the coupling xfmr modified.

The task was not as easy as predicted. The plan was to pull up the RG-8 with the existing #12 wire but the much-thicker cable became snagged in a crouch at the top. Had to pull it down and repeat the process in the other direction. This worked but the 'pull' was so strong at times that I had to use a come-along winch to get it to come though all the numerous branches resisting the effort. At least the wire didn't break.

Once this is operational it will be interesting to see how the two signals compare - so please check it out.
