Hi all:
@ things I found that helped reception here. JASON seems to like a
VERY !!! low volume input. If you see a lot of white in the waterfall
display, your probably getting lots of random letters decoded. I have
the volume control on the radio almost off, and the output level of
my DSP filter set so low that there is no visible audio in its
spectrum display. The JASON waterfall needs to be relatively dark.
With my speakers wide open, I can't hear anything, but JASON was
decoding perfect copy at the 400 watt level. NOW !! the 5 watt level
really made the noise show up. Along with the increase in static
crashes; copy was obliterated. The JASON manual tells that the
" JIMI HENDRIX " mode helps reduce " Impulsive " noise. From the
options menu, I engaged that mode, and the white noise slowly went
away, and JASON started decoding again. I am seeing nothing but
the tones in the reception window between the yellow lines now, and
copy is perfect so far, correctly decoding " WD2XES HOL " and going.
Hope this helps :: 73 all ::
