Todd,

JASON normal runs about 11 seconds per tone, if memory serves. It takes 
two tones to generate a letter. As long as the disturbances are 
relatively short, the mode is very resilient. But there's no error 
correction -- you're just relying on slow keying.

It's noticeably faster than QRSS3, though, so not as slow as you'd 
guess. JASON slow, coming at 0300Z, is faster than QRSS30, but can be as 
much fun as watching dressage riding or concrete setting. It does buy 
you some s/n, though, so it will be interesting to see how it does with 
the 5 watts.
