[Lowfer] virtual audio card question

I need help setting up my new(to me) Gateway M675 laptop.
Running XP. I have two SDR-IQ rec, an ELEKTOR and Softrock. I have the g8jcf software installed and running fine.

I want to use ARGO and Spectran via a virtual audio card.
I have the VAC installed but cant get it to function. I have an external usb sound card but I would rather not use it.

Can anyone give me advise as to how to set up the VAC?
