[Lowfer] Another noise source gone !!

Hi All:

In a previous post, I mentioned that my monitor on the radio PC
was emitting a steady carrier after installing a Corcom filter
in its AC line. It really never was a very noisy CRT, but I put
the filter in the line anyway, and it got rid of the hash noise
that the monitor generated, but then there was a steady carrier
on 512 KHz, at about an S-7. I tried toroids, wrapping the cable
to the PC in a bundle, nothing would get rid of the carrier.
Then I remembered someone posting about changing the refresh rate
of the monitor/video adapter. I changed it from 60Hz, to 75Hz,
and instantly the carrier vanished, and I can't find a monitor
carrier anywhere in the 600 meter band. That's 3 sources of
aggravation solved now, and still moving forward, and without
the aid of the SKS yet!! But I won't rule that one out ! hi -hi
