I'm not comfortable with that idea... I am 1 speck of dust in the
middle of a huge desert...WSPR unites " HAMS " around the world.
If WSPRnet, and the WSPR software works the way I think it does,
we can all go " stealth " and use WSPR as much as we want. As long
as NO ONE uploads their spots to the database, my transmissions
will not show up, and I think that monitors won't show up either.
Decodes can just be posted to the email list like other reports.

The ONLY issue has been the " Made Up " call sign. Unlike all the
other digimode software packages; Joe wrote the WSPR software to
accept only a ham formatted call sign. And in the original purpose
of the software which I think was for moonbounce; the heavy encoding
made for the best chance of decoding a legitimate ham call instead
of jibberish. I'll venture out to say that the thought never crossed
Joe's mind that WSPR would ever be transmitted on anything other than
a Ham Band.. That's why revisions to the software started including
600 meters, and then LF in general. So that is where the 2 fold
issue is. For me to use WSPR on 1750 meters; I have to use a call sign
that resembles a legitimate ham call,(#1) and we avoid that since no
call is required anyway, and to not cause anyone to think there is a
ham allocation on 1750 meters (#2)....The ham population, and even
the experimental stations are being served by WSPR very well..
Truth be told, " I " really don't matter. You don't change a law just
to suit 1 man. So; no changes need to be made to the existing system,
if we want to use it, we just figure out a way to function in the
existing system, without causing issues...ie: " Go Stealth "

73 everyone:
