The best of the holidays to everyone: I have now learned enough about
the ROS software to get it to run beacon text. So; I plan to run in
ROS MF-1 mode with repeating beacon text tonite. After the tranamission
of the beacon text, the software will listen for 1 minute, and then
repeat the sequence, over, and over..I hope that some of you gentlemen
will install the software and see if you can receive the signal.
Here is the link to the homepage of ROS:

http://rosmodem.wordpress.com/

Just download the file, unzip ( extract ) the file, and then open it,
and click the install icon. After installation is finished; the
program may open on its own, but if it dosen't, just click the ROS BETA
icon to open the program.. In the frequencies menu; choose 136 KHz band.
>From the middle of the main program window; use your mouse, and set the
Symbol Rate to " 1 " ..Set the AFC to +/- 80 Hz, and if you desire; turn
the waterfall " ON " but it is not necessary...
Set your radio dial to 184.200 KHz in Upper Sideband.. ROS transmits a
1500 cycle center frequency tone, and uses frequency hopping for data
encoding...The program will look for a signal +/- 80 Hz from the center
frequency which for you will be 184.200 KHz

The signal is running now, so listen when you can.. No internet is
needed as with WSPR, and PC clock timing is not an issue..Narrow audio
and IF filtering will be a matter of user preference..
If you receive the signal; the beacon text message will begin to print
across the receive window... Broken text is definitely possible, and
ROS will print out what it hears, so you may get a portion of the text,
and hopefully an entire sequence...

Thanks to anyone who tries, and good luck... 73 to all:
