Bill,

I just checked, the Perseus is around $1200.

A very similar receiver that goes for $1000 is the QS1R by Phil Covington:

Bill,

Probably the most popular is the Icom R-75, many guys (myself included) use them and they are reasonably priced and available used as well.
For a more versatile RX consider the Microtelecom Perseus which is a direct-sampling type software defined radio.
Other popular radios include the AOR 7030 (no longer made but available used), and many of the commercial radios (Racal, Cubic, Watkins-Johnson etc).
I have and like the AOR 7030 as well as a Racal 6830 and Cubic 3280dsp, all have their good points.

If I had say $300 to spend I'd get a used R-75, if I had a $1000 I'd get a Perseus, if I had $1500 - $2000 I'd get a Racal 6830 or a Cubic 3280dsp.

Hi Group I'm in the process of replacing my TT 320D receiver. I'm looking for opinions on which receiver for LW QRSS, NDB and below 6MHz.

I do not fancy getting a Transceiver because of the added cost and I'm not interested in SSB/CW HF QSO's

I'm looking for time tested experience by you.........where the rubber meets the road.

You may send your thoughts off list to wmarvin at hickorytech.net
