[Lowfer] watering hole last night

Yes, both are my beacons and are very close in design in every way. One difference as of late is the change of the loop conductor of the Ellsworth beacon to an RG-8 cable from a #10 wire. This improved the loop current, at a constant 1W input power, something like + 25% but that still didn't make it equal in received signal strength to the Andover beacon at large distances. For the moment I'm assuming the inferior perfornance is due to the very poor ground conductivity up here. There's also a mountain ridge in the path of the Ellsworth signal for receiving sites SW to West of here but I have yet to prove this makes any difference - especially for sky wave receptions.
