[Lowfer] The sounds of X10, power meters etc on LF

Interesting question! I have often wondered how widely X10 systems
were used and how far those things propagated down wires, and if they
radiated to any extent.

During the winter I have been hearing bursts of noise on LF that I
have attributed to the switching on and off of a heating pad or heat
tape somewhere in my vicinity. I don't hear it any other times of
year. I've been hearing it lately.
