Mike , I have been following the 6 to 9 kHz. experiments both here and
abroad .

Charles designed and built a 24 kHz. tunable bare bones receiver to monitor
SID events at home and also designed an interface to plot the results on a
home PC , with a spreadsheet . No need for an old mechanical recorder and
ink and paper problems .

I think he may have posted a plot of the most recent SID event on that same
page , that was received on his system . His plots look better than most
government or University ones for the events .

He has also successfully used a homebrew 60 kHz. bare bones receiver , using
WWVB as his reference station , with excellent results .

Most of his projects are built with extremely common parts used in unusual
configurations . Makes it easy for the home hobbyist to duplicate .

He has also successfully plotted Schumann Resonance at home .

No real specific frequency to experiment on , but if there is some type of
challenge , especially for receiving , then that becomes a new project .

Charlie , W5COV
