I am surrounded by 80-90 ft trees - all within 50 feet - and though I  
used a vertical
for the first two years - with the top-hat between treetops - I found  
the continual
(almost hourly) tuning and extreme voltages were a real hassle.
Then I converted to Ashlockinism - or went loopy - and haven't been  
the same since.

I tune it once a month whether it needs it or not and  is stable in  
all weather,
and as Mike (WE0H) says - he uses his on HF !
