Throw up an Ashlock loop so you don't have wet ground issues. That
antenna works day & night, winter thru summer without any issues. Keep
the vertical but the TX loop will cure all the funny antenna current
variations for good. The TX loop will also do double duty as a HF loop
which will work incredible on 160m & 80m. Point it to your favorite HF
band DX heading so you get awesome coverage in that direction, keeping
in mind it will radiate in duel directions so you can get DX coverage in
two headings with lesser coverage off the sides. It will radiate pretty
much omni directional on the LF band. Not perfect omni but decent enough
to not worry about it. An idea anyhow...
