>From Dex's page on his hi medfer beacon on 1704.983 kHz , he notes that it 
can be copied using Argo or Spectran type software .

The way I understand his transmitter , the signal is only shifted by 1Hz , 
which I think is a way of making his signal having an unique "signature" .

It should look like some of the signals on the lowfer band that exhibit a 
slight amount of drift .
