After repeatedly choking on the price of #14 solid copper wire,
I went back to the Depot today to pick up some ground rod clamps,
and as I always do; I can't resist a walk down the wire aisle.
Today, I'm glad I did. The local Depot had a clearance going on
a certain brand of 14-2 with ground. UV rated, Moisture proofed,
Direct buriable; **** 7 cents per foot !!!! **** My jaw
dropped, and I went to find a floor person to see if they had
placed a price tag wrong. The floor person told me it was
correct, and I told him to start rolling. I now have 600 feet of
insulated wire, and 300 feet of bare copper wire, all I have to
do is strip the jacket off. Surely I have enough wire now to
rewind my LOWfer antenna coil, and lay a new, insulated radial
system. I don't know, maybe I had better go back and get the
remaining 300 feet that's left ????
