if you have a stable and useful Lo just go to Mini Circuits and
get one of their double balanced mixers I just termed each port
with a 3 Db 50 ohm pad and just that simple I had a good Hi input
resistant to loud signals rcv converter,, add a preamp and you will not
be able to do better ,,, the performance will depend on what receiver you
feed
it with
the next thing is to do the same thing for a Tx converter

in my converter I used a Off the shelf clock Osc,, must have gotten lucky
as the thing has
NO drift,,,, it will copy QRSS 60 for hours and stay on track

total outlay was under 10 bux ,, I believe I hit a friend for a Watkins
Jennings ( ? )DBM mixer
that he had and covered the frequency

EZ to do and it works as good as anything else,, and depending better !
