[Lowfer] Completed a worthwhile project today

Hi all:

I constructed a variable voltage control for the PA voltage on
" XR " today. MAN what a difference !! Once I found the 
" sweet spot " that the transistors wanted from the Osc. drive 
level and the PA voltage, Everything settled down, and appears 
to be happy now. No jumpy current, RF mAmps pops right up and
stays solid. The only fluctuation is when the wind blows the
ant. then it will move around a small bit. Nothing like before
though. Tuning is not totally erratic, but nice and smooth when
I twist the tuning shaft on the Variometer. Now if the ground
will dry up some, I might be able to get some RF up the ant.
