Hi Jim, if you check the archive there is a posting of mine refering to
verticals in the archive abut a month or so back. I would suggest with the
nearnes of the trees that your best bet is a loop.

As a matter of interest  (and I cant speak for your regulator here :-))  )
there is good reason for the "liberal" interpretation of the 50 foot. If you
put up an inverted L 30ft up and 20 foot out, you will not increse the
radiation resistance hence the ERP by adding the extra top leg of the T.
However multiple wires there help reduce the ground loss. A vital advantage
on a low-power rig. You can fill the whole circle with wires and it will not
increase the Rrad. The effect however is much more effective when the
top-loads are longer. At 20ft a lot of the extra capacity to to the vertical
section which is not good. The top load should otherwise all be over open
ground and preferable the vertical should be at least 0 foot from any trees
or buildings.
