I didn't do very well with the Lowfer monitoring, but at 1000Z Radio
Reykjavik on 189 kHz was booming in. It sounded like a local AM
station. The UK, French and Germans were not audible.

JYY was also quite strong on 40 kHz

Hi Steve,
Glad to hear someone else heard 189KHz overnite. It was the best I have
ever heard them also and recorded a few minutes near the top of the hour.
They gave 8 gongs on the hour when I listened at 0800Z so they are right
on UTC time.

Also heard BBC on 198KHz underneath strong beacon DIW in North Carolina
last night. I switched in the Auto Notch Filter on the R75 to notch out the
DIW ID
and had very good copy of voice and music on 198. DIW runs about 20 over S9
here
so the propagation had to be very good for the BBC to override DIW
here along the Southeast coast.

Exceptional conditions last nite for LW broadcast! Static was low too.
