Brian, Charlie...

Yes, John has a calibration article for the R75 receiver, for checking/setting the rx oscilator freq to correspond with a given sound card as displayed on Agro, to "calibrate" the display. That's my take. However John says, " requiring only that you know how to adjust the frequency of the master oscillator in your receiver." That maybe beyong a casual setup that I believe Brian was looking for.

Years back, I suggested LWCA provide for this sort of basic setup info for this popular QRSS program. Back then I couldn't find such starter info either. Someone on the List with the same rx gave me needed help and I believe it was directed to our receivers.

Brian, I'm apprehensive to say what works for me as we use different rxs. However, in general, one should know the freq of the BFO. With the rx in USB tune low by that BFO freq, the rx offset. Then with Argo up and started (the Start button) and proper connection between rx to pc sound card In and rx tuned as above, you should see the signal level bar on Argo's L side react to signals/noise. That's a good sign. Forget about those Argo offset dropdown boxes for now. Open the menu item for mode, select 20-sec. This should give a fast screen with which to quickly see something moving across the screen. May wish to adj. the rx tuning for desired "listening." I'm saying this from memory. Not at my station pc now.

The biggest hill to climb is seeing the first signal troll across the tube. Then other features can be explained if that help needed.

Ha, this is what werks here. Others may wish to comment.
