[Lowfer] Active 1750 meter beacons

Hello Eddy:

I started running my beacon with a CW Id, followed by QRSS-30 " XR ".
The CW was NEVER !! heard by any operator other than those who were
within 100 miles from me. The QRSS-30 was picked up over 500 miles
away. For my own operation; I determined the CW portion to be a
waste of power, and wear and tear on the equipment. I dropped it,
and switched to QRSS-60, and have been received 1185 miles away.
If using QRSS in place of CW makes the difference in being received
" Or Not ! " Taking into consideration the time and effort I put into
getting my beacon operational, the choice was a simple one for me.
Try tuning my frequency, and see if you can hear my carrier, if you
are unable to hear the 1 min, or 3 min keydown sequences, I suspect
you couldn't hear a CW sequence either. I was actually thinking
about trying some CW this weekend, really was going to try to find
some hams close enough to hear me, and do a crossband QSO from 1750
to 80 meters. If you want to try to hear it, I'll re-program my beacon
for CW only tonite. 73, and good listening:
