I have a new transmitter on the air for testing at the present time .
It is crystal controlled on a frequency of 186.000.0 kHz.
The entire transmitter and ID chip are all mounted in an Altoids tin , powered by the station 13.8 VDC power supply .
This transmitter was designed and built by Charles W.
The design is interesting , in that it uses a divide by 5 , then a divide by 2 circuit to give a 50/50 duty cycle square wave . It uses small signal FET's throughout .
A picture and a diagram of it are shown on the Yahoo part15 group home page .
It was just placed on the air in place of my old beacon transmitter and I have made no attempt yet to optimize its performance on my antenna .
It has a bit less antenna current at present than the old beacon , but it went directly from the bench to the antenna .
Reception reports and comments are welcome .
HAPPY NEW YEAR TO A GREAT GROUP !!
Charles
