[Lowfer] Tickler coil adjustment

Thanks guys for all the input. If I'm understanding correctly,
best effeciency in the variometer will occur when the 2 coils
are in the same physical position. Such as, the fixed coil is
sitting vertical ( paint bucket on the table ), and the coil
inside the paint bucket ( vari-coil ) is also in a vertical
position. The windings of each coil should be turning in the
same direction, and maximum power transfer is occuring when
adjusted to this point. This is pretty much what I have now.
I removed enough windings to bring the vari-coil into an
almost vertical position. ( could actually stand to remove a
couple more turns to get vertical position ), and the winding
of both coils are going in the same direction. Power out is at
maximum, and the vari-coil is " adding " Inductance to the
circuit. Tuning is very sharp, but smooth, not jumpy as before.

Any other input is appreciated. I am always eager to learn
something new, and hope to be able to share it with others.

73 for now from Friendsville !!
