Hello All:

A couple of things to update here about Marconi Day:
First : For those interested in trying for a crossband
contact with Graham - GB4FPR; IT IS PERMITTED.
I received the following email from Dr. Raab - W1FR ::

> Yes, you are welcome to quote me.

> April 13, 2009

> Greetings:

Our 500-kHz stations are experimental rather
> than amateur stations. But the Brits are amateurs
> (albeit under special permit) so they can communicate
> with other amateurs.

Now, a couple of weblinks; Visit the GB4FPR site at:

http://groups.google.com/group/uk500khz/web/gb4fpr

According to Graham, the initial transmission will be an
attempt to contact the station at Historic Signal Hill, CAN.

http://www.wordplay.com/tourism/historic/signalhill.html

The transmission will be in CW mode. Graham advises that he may
run a WSPR beacon during a good portion of the night.
Anyone who would like to try for a scheduled contact with
GB4FPR should contact him at the email listed on the webpage.
Here is a portion of an email that Graham recently sent to myself:

>We should have the 600 ft loop (triangle) up on Thursday and start tx
>testing .. main concern is TA conditions, I dont see any wspr spots >for 500 .. I need to determine the best time for the TA crossing

>Do you know is any of the MF stations your side are seeing beacons
>from Europe ?

>Thanks , Graham

If anyone can help Graham with that info, I'm sure he would appreciate it.

That's it for now, 73 to all:
