Hi Charlie - Sorry you lost the Bville OK grabber a year or two back
when I exited stage right out of the plains and still recall the qrrrrrp
tests.
When driving around Texas WEB is a good signal switching between cw/qrss
from memory. I could hear him during the day from 40 miles East of
Houston all the way down towards Levaca from the mobile set on a quiet
day. Pretty good ERP me thinks.
I may have a grabber up from AK from near Wasilla (now becoming a more
famous town for other reasons) for a while in November dependant on
load. Looking forward to getting the old XDW equipment our of hoc, but
finding a room to set up the gear is going to be a challenge as we have
a much smaller property to live in there,
Whizzing around SE Asia/Pacific regions at the moment.
Laurence KL1X...somewhere between 9V1 and 3D2.

Paul , Thank you for the information . Sounds pretty similar to what
he
had when he was here in OK. , operating as OK
He did send me some pictures of the antenna for OK , he was just
moving
from OK. to TX. when I got on .
Lawrence was always a good station to calibrate to on 2200 meters ,
when
he was my neighbor at 40 miles . Also it was nice to see his screen
captures
of my LowFER beacon , so I could tell what happened when I made a change
.
What kind of loading coil did Bill end up fabricating for you ?
Charlie , W5COV
