   I would think that Lyle's version of the ZL1BPU exciter from Murray would 
be a far better choice to kit , or even Murray's version.
   Lyle has several very simple versions of it . It works great and can be 
built in just about the same amount of time .
   Easy to build , frequency agile , without having to locate non standard 
crystals , ID , mode , etc. can all be programmed.
   If you use the TCXO then it is also an extremely stable transmitter , 
that will accommodate various popular modes.
   If LowFER is their goal it would be my choice. Several kits around for 30 
meters .
   Just my 2 cents worth .
