Bill,
>Possibly it's you that isn't up to date with new information on how NASA data forming these super-dreary long-term predictions was flawed
Having done post-graduate work and having actually worked on
climate models for NASA I'm infinitely familiar with the details. I am
perhaps too sensitive about facts thrown around out of context without
any really deep understanding.
Here are the facts:
"A minor data processing error found in the GISS temperature analysis
in early 2007 does not affect the present analysis. The data
processing flaw was failure to apply NOAA adjustments to United States
Historical Climatology Network stations in 2000-2006, as the records
for those years were taken from a different data base (Global
Historical Climatology Network). This flaw affected only 1.6% of the
Earth's surface (contiguous 48 states) and only the several years in
the 21st century."

>this years early Arctic freeze-up doesn't fit the climate-change model?
Actually arctic sea ice is almost gone now in the summer.
I don't know what early freeze-up and how that contradicts any
particular climate model.
ScienceDaily (Oct. 4, 2008) — After reaching the second-lowest extent
ever recorded last month, sea ice in the Arctic has begun to refreeze
in the face of autumn temperatures, closing both the Northern Sea
Route and the direct route through the Northwest

You have specific details that tell a different story?
Everyone is entitled to their own opinions but not their own facts!
