Well,
since I out weigh mine, I figure I am pretty safe with it. I must say though
with this one up 130 feet (pent-house roof) and plugged into the RYCOM receivers
it does a fine job for lowfer and 500 KC reception.

I have to admit, I also have an AMRAD E-Field probe & they do look threatening.
I've gone out and shot mine twice now!

Greetings folks,
I have repaired the AMRAD Probe antenna, it was shot under the misconception
that it was a "terrorist explosive device". After repairing and testing it I
have returned
it to the roof-top of the building at approx. 130 ft. This antenna is
dedicated to the 500
KC ARRL group frequencies 505 - 510 KC. That grabber is at:
http://eshop1.chem.buffalo.edu/Buf-Grab.html
The receiver is the Rycom 1307A.
The addition of a 5 ft. loop antenna, has resulted in the ability to display
the Lowfer
folks in the range 180 - 190 KC. The loop is also on the roof and oriented
N-S
for best reception. The remote controls have not been attached YET, so if
anyone
needs reports from a different direction, let me know via e-mail. That
grabber is at:
http://eshop1.chem.buffalo.edu/Lowfer-Grab.html
The receiver is the Rycom 2174A-610.
Further info as it happens.
Enjoy
