In the UK they do use the power grid to carry data but on optical fibres
strung along with the cables.
I think there was some government subsidy to get the ball rolling but
they're making a mint out of it now!
BPL down miles of pylons will be a disaster... we have enough trouble from
"homeplug" ethernet adapters. :-(
