Charles/Mike _ I had to leave Alaska for Oklahoma in 03 for work - so enjoying being back North but remember only too well the nigh immediate and negative (and long term) affects of Au or other solar flows on MF and LF. We are surrounded by mountains so low powered MF beacons only 150 miles away aren't heard during the day; its not an open aspect location, save the forest per XDW but it will be interesting in any case - my s/n is better than XDW and the old faithful Loran lines appeared in all the right places. Not taken a good look for beacons south of here - Steve SL gave me a list to look for and I've only found two on his wanted so far, - the Russian LF 153khz and other bcst are stronger than at XDW, but nothing from Eu given the Solar condx and DCF39 on 138.83 and a bit was only a smudge at dot 30 slow - but I'm using the 9V1 LF "array" (the baby bottle) hiked up 30 ft uppa fir like tree so can do better, but improvements are going to b e slow as the house contents arrive here from Tx, China and Singapore Monday....we are fed up sitting on the floor and boxes.
